ICOM Organizes “Museums for All” Festival

For the first time in 2016, International Council of Museums is participating in the “Portable Museum” (Musées (em)portables) Festival, with the creation of the ICOM Museums for All award.

The prize rewards footages highlighting the relation to museums that “non-traditional” audiences have—socially marginalized groups, disabled people, immigrants, rural inhabitants, among others, ISNA reported, quoting the official ICOM website.

The footages will present a sensitive and original take on the theme. The inauguration of the ICOM Museums for All prize is part of the council’s effort to make museums appealing to everyone.

The competition is open to individual or group participants. The selected footage will be broadcast widely through the international channels of ICOM.

Those interested can visit www.museumexperts.com for more information or to register. The deadline to send a footage is December 1, 2015.

An overall sum of €2,000 will be handed out as follows: €1,000 for winner and €500 for the second and third placed footages.
