A recent report by the World Travel and Tourism Council predicts Iran’s tourism industry will grow by 6.6% in 2015. The report, titled “Travel and Tourism: Economic Impact 2015 Iran”, estimates the value of the industry at $7.8 billion in 2014, adding that tourism generated 413,000 jobs in Iran last year. Employment in the sector is also expected to rise by 4.4% in 2015. In May, a report by the World Economic Forum said Iran is the world’s most affordable tourist destination. Iran’s 20-year Vision Plan aims to boost tourism revenue to $30 billion per year by 2025.
