Reporters from SWR Broadcasting have traveled to Savadkouh County, Mazandaran Province, to prepare a pictorial report on the province’s tourist attractions, head of Cultural Affairs and Public Relations Office of Mazandaran’s Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Department, Abbas Mahdavi, said.

Invited by Iran’s tourism authorities, the reporters visited the provinces of Khuzestan, Lorestan, Markazi, Tehran and Semnan, before arriving in Mazandaran on Saturday.

The main purpose of the German group’s visit is to prepare a report on the iconic Veresk Bridge and the Three Golden Lines in Savadkouh County—made by German engineers as part of the Trans-Iranian Railroad that started in 1927 and was completed in 1938.

The Three Golden Lines ascends and descends the Alborz Mountain range by crossing the same area at three different heights. To travel using the railroad—which connects Tehran to the Caspian Sea region—Veresk Bridge had to be built to cross valleys.

Once they are done compiling information on Mazandaran’s attractions, the journalists will travel to the neighboring Golestan Province.
