The long awaited arrival of the first European passenger train is expected tomorrow, September 29 via the Razi border crossing near Khoy, Danube Express reported.

The Golden Eagle Danube Express – Jewels of Persia is the first European private train to be permitted to enter into Iran.  The tour, which has been organized in coordination with the Iranian company, Pasargad Tours, will be traveling from Budapest on the banks of the Danube, via the shores of the Bosphorus and the city of Istanbul, into the ancient land of Persia.  The tour promises to provide “a unique journey that takes in destinations rarely experienced by the Western visitor.”

Danube Express, a privately owned UK based company, markets luxury train cruises across Europe and operates the only international private train in Europe with en suite compartments. Combined with lower beds, air-conditioning and single sitting meals, the exclusive train accommodating a maximum of just 50 passengers, offers an unforgettable experience that includes off-train excursions at no extra costs.

The concept of ‘Hotel on Wheels’ was brought to fruition by specialist in his field, Howard Trinder who has over 30 years experience in the industry. From a railway family, Howard has a lifelong interest and passion for trains and has travelled extensively by rail throughout Europe. His previous experiences in tour operation, rail travel and private trains have enabled him to ensure that the Danube Express combines modern comfort with traditional service and ambience.
