The first conference and specialized exhibition of Iranian souvenirs opens April 12 at Milad Tower in Tehran and will continue for three days.
According to CHTN, the event is a joint action organized by Iran’s Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts, and Tourism Organization (ICHHTO) and Iran Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC).
Raising public awareness towards domestic production markets of national souvenirs along with introduction of services and products of different provinces are the main aims of the conference, said Amir Karamzadeh, investment and development deputy of ITDC.
“Standards of production, solutions to problems and issues facing the producers, and the criteria for customer satisfaction will be discussed during the conference,” he added.
It is hoped that the exhibition will provide an opportunity to better introduce Iranian souvenirs to be presented and sold in international airports, hotels and other lodging establishments, and transit terminals in and outside the country.
Referring to national souvenirs as representatives of the rich Iranian-Islamic culture and civilization, Karamzadeh noted that offering methods and strategies to further expand the tourism industry as well as earning foreign exchange through the sale and export of souvenirs are two other issues that will be addressed in the conference.
Distinguished names in the area of handicraft and tourism in the past Iranian year (ended March 20) will be acknowledged in the event.
