Tourism Cooperation With Greece

Iran’s cultural attaché in Greece, Mohammad Hossein Mozaffari, met with Greek minister of culture and sport, Panos Panagiotopoulos on expansion of tourism cooperation between the two countries. The Greek official referred to deeply-rooted ties and cooperation between Greece and Iran, and said a tourism exchange can help develop better understanding of a shared culture and develop tourism, accrding to IRNA. Panagiotopoulos expressed the hope that Iranian tourists would choose Greece as among their preferred holiday destinations, and the Greek government would be able to provide them with suitable facilities. Mozaffari said Tehran has the same vision and believes that promotion of the tourism industry would bring about economic growth. He called on the Greek government to remove red tape in issuing visas to Iranian tourists. Iran is ready to help set up an international book fairs in Thessaloniki in May, Mozaffari said.
