ICHHTO Head Reiterates Gov’t Support for Tourism

Vice-President and head of Iran’s Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization (ICHHTO) Masoud Soltanifar reaffirmed the government’s commitment to promoting and supporting development of the tourism industry.

Speaking at the Iran Cultural Evening on the sidelines of the 49th ITB Berlin Tourism Fair on Wednesday, Soltanifar said that President Hassan Rouhani is determined to promote the country’s tourism sector, IRNA reported.
Pledging full support for Iran’s tourism, Soltanifar vowed to deepen cooperation with the private tourism sector.
Rouhani’s policy is to broaden contact with the rest of the world. This is part of the government agenda and one of the important vehicles in realizing this is through tourism, he added.
Soltanifar’s remarks were underscored by Iran’s Ambassador to Germany Ali Majedi who said an important factor in promoting understanding among nations is tourism.
He encouraged Germans to visit Iran to get a better understanding of the culture and its people.
“Germans can only have a true understanding of Iran and Iranians once they visit the country. Therefore, we invite all Germans to visit the Islamic Republic of Iran so that they will get a deeper understanding of our country and its people,” said Majedi.
