A bird smuggler was arrested in Saravan, Sistan-Baluchestan Province, by the Protection Unit of Department of Environment. The culprit intended to smuggle 190 partridges in a car through the Rutak border when he was identified and arrested by environmental officers. According to Nayyereh Pourmolaei, the head of provincial DOE, a culprit is fined 2 million rials ($52) per illegally hunted bird, Tasnim News Agency reported. The birds have been transferred to DOE's office for further investigations and the offender was handed over to judiciary officials.
