3% Decline  in Rainfall

Rainfall in the current water year has declined by 3% compared to a year ago, statistics published by Energy Ministry on its website reported. From the beginning of the current water year (Sept. 22, 2016) up to June 27, Iran has had 223 milliliters of precipitation, down 8 mL from the corresponding period of last year. Rainfall in 18 out of 31 provinces dropped during the period, with Ilam (-55%), Khuzestan (-48%) and Kermanshah (-40%) witnessing the sharpest decline in precipitation.  Other provinces experienced slight increases in rainfall.
