Meteorologists say a cold front entering Iran from the west will instigate rainfall in western and northwest parts of the country, whereas Khuzestan Province might have to deal with dust storms. Ahad Vazifeh, director of the Forecasting and Early Warning Office at the Iran Meteorological Organization, told ISNA that the aforementioned regions will experience frequent showers from Thursday morning. “The clouds will eventually move east and cover most of the country, so we also expect rainfall in other areas in the coming days,” he said. Kourosh Bahadori, Khuzestan’s chief meteorologist, was quoted as saying by Mehr News Agency that the province will experience dust and sand storms originating from Saudi Arabia and Iraq. “Field of vision will be compromised in Abadan, Khorramshahr, Ahvaz, Bostan and Shadegan,” he said, adding that the rainfall forecast in western Iran might also reach Khuzestan.
