A high-level climate change conference will be held at Tehran’s Pardisan Park where the main office of the Department of Environment is located. EU Commissioner for Climate Action and Energy Miguel Arias Canete, who arrived in Tehran on Saturday to kick off the first-ever Iran-EU Business Forum on Sustainable Energy, is scheduled to open the conference on Sunday, IRNA reported. According to the official EU website, the aim is to review progress made over the implementation of Paris Agreement and discuss the role of clean energy in the transition to a low-carbon economy as well as urgent actions needed to adapt to the consequences of climate change. Massoumeh Ebtekar, the head of DOE, Oil Minister Bijan Zanganeh and Energy Minister Hamid Chitchian are expected to attend the confab.
