Green Loans for Industries

The Department of Environment is trying to launch a credit line for industries to encourage them to develop eco-friendly technologies, according the head of the department, Massoumeh Ebtekar. “The low-interest loans will be provided through the National Environment Fund,” she told the press on Monday, adding that her department is ironing out the details with the managers of the fund, ILNA reported. “Many have already submitted requests for loans,” she said, and encouraged others to apply “as soon as possible.” The government is also in talks with the banking industry for credits to those wanting to invest in sustainable projects, especially schemes related to waste management, Ebtekar added. The DOE did not say how much money would be made available to the companies who decide to borrow for using/importing eco-friendly technology.
