Green Startup Weekend

The first Tehran Green Startup Weekend will be held on November 18–20, coinciding with the Global Entrepreneurship Week (Nov. 16-22), Sarvenaz Arianfar, an organizer of the event, said. The startup weekend will revolve around the environment, natural resources and clean energies. “The event should be of interest to green thinkers, those with ecofriendly ideas, environmental activists, commercial managers, entrepreneurs and investors,” Arianfar told IRNA. Students, programmers, commercial managers, marketing experts and graphic designers, among others, will participate in the event. After the ideas are discussed, teams will be formed to implement the selected ideas, Arianfar said. On the first day, ideas are put forth and the best ones are selected to be worked on. On the second day, participants are divided into teams of 7 or 8. They improve the selected idea and make it practical. The completed works are submitted to the jury on the third day. The top three teams will be given awards that will help them build on and promote their ideas.
