Incidence of goats and sheep afflicted with ovine rinderpest disease, or PPR, has been decreasing in Zanjan Province, according to Reza Ramezani, a public relations officer at the provincial Department of Environment, according to Mehr News Agency. He said the department is continuously monitoring the spread of the disease. PPR is highly contagious and has an 80% mortality rate in severe cases.
