Iran’s use of pesticides in farming trumps the global average, highlighting the need for better management of its use. According to Shina Ansari, director of the Environmental Monitoring Office at the Department of Environment, the norm is to use seven kilograms of pesticide per hectare of farmland, while in Iran the figure is a whopping 46.1 kilos, IRNA reported.
