President Hassan Rouhani said on Sunday the US interventionist policies are responsible for the problems facing the world, including those in the Middle East.
"Most regional and global problems have been created due to the bullying attitude of certain countries, particularly the United States, which is rooted in violating international law and pursuing unilateralism," he was quoted as saying by his website.
His remarks came during a meeting with the President of Inter-Parliamentary Uni, Gabriela Cuevas Barron in Tehran.
The Iranian president accused the United States of fueling tensions in the Middle East and condemned America's "interventionist military presence" in the already volatile region.
Rouhani also denounced the violation of its airspace by a US military drone, which Tehran shot down on Thursday.
The US claims the drone was flying over international waters near the Persian Gulf.
"We expect international bodies to show proper reaction to this aggressive move," Rouhani said.
Cuevas noted that the Islamic Republic plays an important role in resolving issues through peaceful solutions and promoting multilateralism.
She said the Iran nuclear deal is of high significance, stressing that dialogue and interaction are crucial to maintain regional peace and stability.
The president of the Inter-Parliamentary Union also held talks with other Iranian officials, including Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani and Foreign Minister Mohammed Javad Zarif, on Sunday.
