Foreign Minister Mohammed Javad Zarif met his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov, on Wednesday in Moscow to discuss bilateral ties and Iran's 2015 nuclear deal.
He had set off from Tehran late Tuesday for a two-day visit to Russia, ISNA reported.
Referring to the United States' withdrawal from the nuclear deal last May and its severe sanctions on Tehran, Zarif said Iran has waited for a year but other parties have failed to deliver on their promises.
"Russia and China preserved good relations with Iran although it was not in the way we expected in some cases, but other parties [France, Germany and Britain] did not fulfill any of their commitments. Good statements were released, but no measure was taken," he said.
The Russian foreign minister criticized the US government for its “irresponsible behavior” that has complicated the situation surrounding the nuclear accord.
Lavrov also stressed that Russia appreciated Iran’s continued compliance with the nuclear deal even after the US failed to keep its side of the bargain.
