Parliamentarians are preparing a bill that would require the government to continue uranium enrichment using new-generation centrifuge machines, the spokesperson for the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee said in an interview with ISNA on Saturday.
Hossein Naqavi Hosseini said the move is a response to threats by US lawmakers to impose new sanctions on Iran over its nuclear program.
He also said, “We are negotiating with the US government on the nuclear issue, so any measure that the US Congress intends to take is not our business and the US president is responsible in this regard, and we should not be drawn in US internal conflicts.”
In addition, he said, “If it happens (new sanctions are imposed), it will certainly be the end of the line and the talks will collapse, in which case the Americans will be responsible for the breakdown of the negotiations.”
