Iran Not to Buckle Under Economic War

President Hassan Rouhani said the Islamic Republic will not “surrender” in the face of the intense “economic warfare” waged by the United States.
“Today, the enemy has imposed an economic, propaganda and psychological warfare on our nation and our people will once again defend their dignity and independence and will not give in,” the president said in a Cabinet meeting on Wednesday, the president's website reported. 
“Over the past year, enemies have made every effort to dishearten and trouble our people and have managed to exert some pressure, and it is natural because when a war is imposed on a nation, it causes casualties and hardships … But the people will resist and preserve the country’s dignity and integrity,” he added. 
Since its exit from the landmark Iran nuclear deal in May, the US has mounted an all-out pressure campaign against Tehran and imposed draconian sanctions, severely constraining the country’s sources of income, particularly oil revenues, and choking payment channels that have reduced the import of some essential goods.
