Lawmakers are set to decide whether to approve the nominee for Health and Medical Education Ministry on Feb. 4.
President Hassan Rouhani named Saeid Namaki for the position on Monday. The voting session must be held within seven days from the date the parliament receives the proposal.
Namaki was appointed as caretaker of the ministry after Hassan Qazizadeh Hashemi, the former minister, resigned over budget cuts last month.
Based on the Majlis procedure, the president can deliver a one-hour speech at the confirmation vote in support of his nominee. Two proponents and opponents of the ministerial hopeful will also have 15 minutes each to convince the legislature.
Namaki will have 30 minutes to speak in defense of his plans in the new capacity.
