President Hassan Rouhani on Friday conveyed condolences to the people and government of Saudi Arabia following the death of King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz al Saud. The foreign ministry also offered condolences on the occasion.
In a statement, foreign ministry spokesperson Marziyeh Afkham said Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif will travel to Riyadh to attend the official funeral ceremony to be held for the late monarch on Saturday, IRNA reported. The Saudi ruler was suffering from pneumonia and died in the early hours of Friday morning in hospital at the age of 90.
