UN Official Underscores Signatories’ Adherence to JCPOA

Signatories of Iran nuclear deal are obliged to abide by their undertakings under the agreement, as the International Atomic Energy Agency has confirmed several times that Iran has been fully committed to the landmark accord, a UN official said on Monday.
Director of UN Information Center in Tehran Maria Dotsenko also said United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres is worried about the US decision to withdraw from the nuclear deal and reimpose sanctions against Tehran, Fars News Agency reported.
"Guterres maintains that, according to the International Atomic Energy Agency reports, Iran has not had any deviations in its nuclear activities and accordingly, other signatories of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action on Tehran’s nuclear program have to stand by the deal," Dotsenko said.
She stressed that the UN will continue to support the Iranian government and nation.
Dotsenko noted that the UN is going to help the Iranian government provide vulnerable people with special packages to lessen the effects of US sanctions, without elaborating further on the packages.
