Parliamentary Delegation in Syria

A delegation of Iranian lawmakers led by Chairman of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Heshmatollah Falahatpisheh arrived in Damascus on Monday to hold talks with Syrian officials on expansion of bilateral tiess.
Upon arrival, the Iranian parliamentarians were received by members of the national security committee of the People’s Council of Syria as well as members of Iran-Syria Friendship Group at the Syrian Parliament, ICANA reported.    
Falahatpisheh said that the successful military cooperation between the two sides helped ward off the threat posed by violent militant groups against the Syrian people during the devastating civil war that gripped the Arab country since 2011.
"Now it is time for the parliaments to work together to pave the way for improving ties in cultural, political and economic fields," he said.
