India and Russia reiterated common approaches toward global and regional problems, including the implementation of the 2015 nuclear deal between Iran and six world powers.
This was the theme of talks when Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov and Indian Foreign Secretary Vijay Keshav Gokhale met in New Delhi on Wednesday, the Economic Times reported.
“During the meeting, the unprecedented nature of the Russian-Indian Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership was noted, and a high assessment was given to the positive dynamics of bilateral relations in various fields,” according to a statement by the Russian government.
The two sides discussed in detail global issues in the field of arms control and non-proliferation of WMD, and emphasized their intention to increase cooperation in the international arena, including in BRICS and other multilateral formats.
They reaffirmed the commitment to form a polycentric world order based on fair and democratic principles and the rule of law.
