Time for Afghans to Rely on Domestic Defense Capacities: Shamkhani

The United States’ withdrawal of forces is a golden opportunity for Afghanistan to improve its defense and military capabilities by relying on domestic and regional capacities, a top Iranian security official said. 
“Regional nations are looking forward to the total pullout of American forces, whose presence has had no outcome but war and insecurity,” Ali Shamkhani, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, also said in a Wednesday meeting with Afghan President Ashraf Ghani.
