    IRGC: Missile Tests Will Continue

A senior Islamic Revolution Guards Corps official confirmed on Tuesday that Iran has recently conducted a ballistic missile test, stressing that the country will press ahead with its missile development program.

“We will continue our missile tests and this recent step was a significant test,” Amir Ali Hajizadeh, commander of the IRGC Airspace Division, also told Fars News Agency.

“The reaction of the Americans indicates that this test was very important for them and that is why they were screaming.”

Hajizadeh also said the Iranian armed forces carry out over 50 missile tests each year.

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said earlier this month that Iran had test-fired “a medium-range ballistic missile” in violation of UN Security Council resolution on its nuclear deal.

Tehran insists its conventional missile activities do not run counter to any UN resolution and ruled out any talks with the West over its defense plans, particularly its missile program.
