Ten suspects linked to the Thursday terrorist attack in the port city of Chabahar in southeastern Sistan-Baluchestan Province have been arrested, the police chief announced on Sunday.
Brigadier General Hossein Ashtari also expressed hope that “the main elements and the masterminds behind this terrorist attack will be identified, arrested and punished, with the cooperation and coordination of people, police and judicial authorities,” Fars News Agency reported.
On Saturday, provincial prosecutor, Ali Movahedirad, said several suspects have been arrested in various cities of the province in connection with the attack.
Movahedirad also said, “Investigations will continue into the role of the suspects in the terrorist operations and the identification of the main agents of the incident.”
On Thursday morning, a car bomber struck a police headquarters in Chabahar, killing at least two policemen and wounding over 40 people.
The militant group Ansar al-Furqan claimed the attack.
