Iran is willing to hold talks with Europe on ways of alleviating the problems in war-torn Yemen and preventing the further massacre of its innocent people, a lawmaker said.
“Mutually, Europeans need to make efforts to settle the conflicts in Yemen,” Morteza Saffari, a member of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, told ICANA in a recent talk.
Iran has already held negotiations with Europe on Yemen’s humanitarian crisis in parallel with nuclear consultations.
The Saudi-led coalition has been carrying out massive airstrikes on Yemen’s main port city of Hodeida since last week.
With the escalation of armed conflicts in the Arab state, western countries have been pressing for an end to the nearly four-year war that has killed more than 10,000 people.
British Foreign Minister Jeremy Hunt visited Saudi Arabia on Monday for talks over the issue.
