    Spain Supports Preserving JCPOA

Iran’s ambassador to Spain Mohammad Hassan Fadayeefard in separate meetings with President of Spain’s Senate Pio Garcia-Escudero and Speaker of the Congress of Deputies Ana Pastor reviewed developments related to salvaging the 2015 Iran nuclear deal.

During the meetings in the Spanish capital on Friday, Fadayeefard urged “the European states to offer guarantees for meeting Iran’s interest” under the nuclear deal, formally known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, Fars News Agency reported.

Garcia-Escudero said he hoped “the European Union would present the necessary guarantees for preserving the Iran deal by adopting independent policies.”

Meanwhile, Pastor appreciated Iran’s support for Spanish firms present in the Iranian market.

She reiterated that Spain’s policy is in line with preserving the nuclear deal and respecting its principles.

Fadayeefard underlined the significant role played by the two countries’ parliaments to develop relations between Tehran and Madrid, and expressed the hope that both sides will continue their parliamentary cooperation.
