An earthquake measuring 4 magnitude on the Richter scale jolted Jannat Shahr in the southern province of Fars  early Sunday.

According to the Seismological Center of the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University, the tremor occurred at 03:37 local time at a depth of 10 km, IRNA reported.

There was no damage to life or property.

An earthquake measuring 4.6 on the Richter scale jolted  Hajdak village in Kerman Province on Friday.

On November 12, 2017 a 7.3 magnitude earthquake struck Ozgoleh region in Kermanshah Province in western Iran, killing more than 620 people and injuring 12,000 others.

Iran sits on major seismological fault lines, making it one of the world’s most quake-prone countries.
