Heikal Meets Envoy

Prominent Egyptian journalist Mohamed Hassanein Heikal says cooperation and interaction between Iran and Arab countries can help correct misunderstandings between the two sides and promote their mutual interests.
The veteran journalist made the remarks in a meeting with Mohammad Mahmoudian, head of Iran’s Interests Section in Egypt, IRNA reported on Sunday. He also said the Egyptian government has adopted the policy of expanding relations with all influential countries in the region.
The Iranian official, for his part, said in view of the “important” and “influential” role of Iran and Egypt in regional developments, the two countries should seek to increase “constructive” cooperation to advance the interests of the two countries and other Muslim states.
