President Congratulates Nicaragua National Day

President Hassan Rouhani offered congratulations to the Nicaraguan people and government over the Central American country’s independence day. In a message to President Daniel Ortega on Saturday, Rouhani felicitated the 197th anniversary of Nicaragua’s independence. Rouhani expressed the hope that “Tehran-Managua friendly and brotherly relations would expand further in all areas, particularly in economic areas,” Tasnim News Agency reported. He wished success for the Nicaraguan leader and progress and prosperity for his people and government. Nicaragua declared independence from Spain on September 15, 1821. Elevating ties with Latin American nations has been among Iran’s declared foreign policy priorities.
