A senior security official says Tehran will respond to any hostile action against the country and that the era of “hit and run” was over. “The era of hit and run is over and any hostile measure against our country will invite a 10-fold response. We are capable of protecting ourselves in every field,” Tasnim News Agency quoted Ali Shamkhani, the secretary of the  Supreme National Security Council, as saying on Monday. “Iran’s recent reaction in Iraqi Kurdistan was an example of Tehran’s response to any threat,” he noted. Iran’s elite Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) at the weekend fired seven missiles on terrorists who had earlier killed 11 people. The Guard said that the missile strikes were a response to the terrorists that launched attacks on border areas, created insecurity and conducted acts of sabotage in West Azarbaijan, Kurdestan and Kermanshah provinces.
