In congratulatory messages to Tajikistan and North Korea on the anniversaries of independence and foundation, President Hassan Rouhani voiced Tehran’s willingness to boost ties with the two Asian nations. In a message Sunday to his Tajik counterpart, Emomali Rahmon, Rouhani congratulated the Central Asian nation on the 27th anniversary of its independence from the Soviet Union in 1991. He expressed confidence that Tehran and Dushanbe will enhance relations to serve mutual interests and strengthen regional security and stability, his official website reported. In a letter to North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, the president congratulated the country on the 70th anniversary of its Day of Foundation. Rouhani called for closer links between Iran and North Korea in various fields.
