Speaker Visiting Russia

Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani arrived in Russia on Wednesday for a one-day official visit to attend the Inter-Parliamentary Commission meeting.

Larijani is due to hold talks with his Russian counterpart on Thursday, Mehr News Agency reported. The speaker will Russia for Belarus to meet with senior officials. According to the State Duma Foreign Affairs Committee head Leonid Slutsky, trade and economic issues and countering terrorism will be discussed at the Russia-Iran meeting in Volgograd. The first meeting of the commission for cooperation between the Duma and Iran’s Majlis is a high-level inter-parliamentary session headed by State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin and Iran’s Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani.  The two sides will discuss ways to expand trade and economic cooperation, Russian news agency Interfax quoted Slutsky as telling reporters on Tuesday.
