Zarif, Mongolian Deputy FM Meet

Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and Mongolian Deputy Foreign Minister Battsetseg Batmunkh discussed a issues of mutual interest including ways to boost bilateral relations in diverse areas. In the meeting in Tehran on Tuesday, Zarif and Batmunkh hailed the “cordial” two-way relations and called for more efforts to boost cooperation in various economic and political fields, Mehr News Agency reported. The two diplomats also discussed other issues, including Mongolian officials’ visits to Iran, parliamentary ties, agricultural cooperation, especially in the livestock sector, holding a joint business forum, and cooperation in transportation, scientific, cultural, oil and energy sectors.  Back in June, President Hassan Rouhani met with his Mongolian counterpart, Khaltmaagiin Battulga, on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in China. In the meeting, Rouhani hailed the growing bilateral relations with Mongolia and said all potentials should be tapped to build and expand friendly ties.
