The commander of the naval force of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) says Iran’s defense capabilities have compelled the US military to change its strategy in the Persian Gulf, adding that IRGC speedboats are able to sink US warships.
“US officials in their remarks have admitted that the IRGC is able to sink the aircraft carriers which are built at a cost of 13 billion dollars using its speedboats,” Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi said in a meeting with visiting Commandant of Oman’s National Defense College (NDC) Major General Salim bin Musallam Qatan, Fars news agency reported on Sunday. The IRGC naval force is tasked with defending the country’s interests in the Persian Gulf.
