President Hassan Rouhani sent a message to Oman’s Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al Said.
Iran’s ambassador to Muscat, Mohammad Reza Noori delivered the message to Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal bin Saud al Busaidi, the minister of the Diwan at the of Royal Court, reported, Tasnim News Agency reported Monday citing Muscat Daily. There was no mention about the content of the message to the Omani leader.
The envoy and the Omani minister also reviewed issues related to bilateral relations.
Iran and Oman have developed strong political relations in recent years, with senior officials making regular reciprocal visits. Sultan Qaboos played an important role in facilitating the early stages of the nuclear talks between Iran and world powers that led to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) in 2015.
