3 in the Dock for Economic Malpractice

The trial of three individuals accused of involvement in economic sabotage has begun, IRNA reported on Sunday.  According to judicial authorities, the "economic saboteurs", who appeared before Tehran's Islamic Revolutionary Court, had imported goods with hard currency from the government at subsidized rates for  basic goods and medicine but sold them at the free-market rates.  In the wake of the chaos in the foreign currency market caused by inefficient monetary policies and renewed US sanctions, senior authorities vowed to crack down on those who disrupt order and break the law with the aim of making an extra buck and destabilizing the market.
