Pakistan Says Close Ties a Priority

Pakistan’s newly-appointed Information and Broadcasting Minister Fawad Chaudhry underlined that his country will prioritize relations with Iran in all fields. "Expansion of relations with Iran will be the government's foreign policy priority," Chaudhry, also a spokesman of the ruling party of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), told Fars News Agency on Monday. He underscored his government's plans for serious measures to consolidate ties with Tehran. "We consider Iran as a role model for Pakistan in administration of the country and we will take steps to this end." Chaudhry referred to the close bonds between Tehran and Islamabad, and said, "The PTI is trying to transform these ties into unbreakable and sustainable friendship."
