Unacceptable Demands

The spokesperson for the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee said Iran is determined to continue negotiations with the major powers on a final nuclear deal and believes that the dispute over Tehran’s nuclear program can be resolved only through negotiations, but the western powers “make demands and express views in this regard that are not acceptable to the Islamic Republic.” Hossein Naqavi Hosseini also told ICANA on Saturday that the United States would be to blame for a possible failure of the nuclear talks due to the fact that it makes “excessive demands” and “goes back on its promises”, adding that the western powers’ dispute with Iran is mainly over “political issues”.
In addition, he said the imposition of new sanctions by the US Congress could lead to the collapse of the negotiations.
