Two overhauled Mirage and F5 fighter jets were unveiled in northeastern Iran on Sunday.
The overhaul operations on Mirage were accomplished by Air Force experts and engineers at Shahid Habibi Airbase in Mashhad after 25,000 man-hours of work, Fars News Agency reported.
The double-cockpit F5 warplane was overhauled by the airbase’s young experts after 12,500 man-hours. The jets were inducted into the Air Force after going the necessary tests, including test flights. The most recent rejoining of repaired fighter jets by local experts was on July 25, in which Islamic Revolution Guards Corps experts overhauled and upgraded 10 Sukhoi SU-22 fighter jets.
On July 19 Iran reported the overhauling of an American-made F-14 Tomcat at Shahid Babaei Airbase in central Isfahan Province.
In recent years, Iran has made progress in the defense sector and gained self-sufficiency in manufacturing essential military hardware and defense systems.
