Health officials from the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps and the Omani Army agreed Monday to develop bilateral cooperation. A health delegation from the medical wing of the Omani Army, headed by Colonel Al-Haresi, the deputy head of the wing, met with Brigadier General Ahmad Abdollahi, the IRGC deputy commander for health, rescue, treatment and medical education, Mehr News Agency reported. In the meeting the two sides underlined the need for expansion of bilateral relations and cooperation between the health departments of the two armead forces. Abdollahi described the meeting as  the opening of a new chapter in the relations between the two armed forces. “IRGC’s health and treatment unit gained valuable experience during the eight years of the Holy Defense [1980-88 Iraq-Iran War] and is willing to share it with the armed forces of the friendly and neighboring country of Oman,” the senior officer said. Al-Haresi noted that the Iranian armed forces have always benefitted from high quality in terms of medical services. “We are ready to draw on the experience of the armed forces in Iran in different areas of health and medicine as a role model,” he was quoted as saying.
