Russia's special presidential envoy for Syria Alexander Lavrentiev will visit Tehran on Wednesday to brief the leadership on the results of the summit between US and Russian leaders in Finland, a report said. Fars News Agency cited a report carried by Russia’s RBK TV as saying that Lavrentiev is also scheduled to coordinate possible joint action based on the agreements reached in the Finnish capital. Putin and Trump met behind closed doors in Helsinki on Monday, and Lavrentiev was a member of Russia's negotiating delegation to the Finnish capital. Iran's presence in Syria has been among the issues discussed by Putin and Trump in Helsinki, the Russian news channel broadcast. The two presidents reportedly agreed, among other things, on the issue of Iran’s military presence in Syria. “Clearly, we mentioned the regional crisis; for instance, Syria. As far as Syria is concerned, the task of establishing peace and reconciliation in this country could be the first showcase example of this successful joint work,” USA Today quoted  President Vladimir Putin as saying in a joint presser with Donald Trump on Monday. Ahead of the meeting, Ali Akbar Velayati, an adviser to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, visited Moscow and held talks with Putin.
