Pakistan Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa has emphasized the need to enhancing military cooperation between the armed forces of Iran and his country, a military statement said on Monday. Pakistan Army’s media wing Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) in a statement said General Bajwa made the call in a meeting with the Chairman of the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Hossein Baqeri who called on him at the Pakistan Army Headquarters in Rawalpindi, Pakistan Today reported. “During the meeting matters of mutual interest, regional security, defense cooperation and joint border management were discussed,” it said.  “COAS said that enhanced Pakistan-Iran cooperation will have a positive impact on peace and security in the region,” said the statement. Bagheri arrived in Islamabad on Sunday on an official three-day visit. Bilateral ties, defense cooperation, border management, war against terrorism, regional and international developments are on the agenda.
