Health Minister Hassan Hashemi was received by President Ilham Aliyev in Baku on Friday on the second day of his visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan. During the meeting, Hashemi expressed Iran’s readiness for cooperation in different fields, including health, treatment and medicine, and added that expansion of ties will prepare the way for the prosperity and welfare of both peoples, IRNA reported. Iran’s pharmaceutical companies, whose representatives accompanied the minister, have said they can help meet Azerbaijan’s medical and health-related needs. President Aliyev called for the presence of Iranian medical instructors in Azeri educational and treatment centers and added that instructions have been issued for developing ties with Iran and Azeri organizations.
Hashemi met with the ministers of health, economic development, labor and social protection on Thursday. The minister and accompanying delegation visited a hospital in Baku and an industrial zone in the capital’s suburbs, where a joint pharmaceutical factory is to be built.
