There are no Iranians involved in the war in Yemen, spokesman for the Yemeni Houthi Ansarullah movement said. Not a single Iranian is fighting in Yemen, while the military forces of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Sudan have boots on the ground and are involved in a Saudi-led military campaign against the Yemeni people, Mohammad Abdulsalam told Al Mayadeen news on Saturday. The main objective of US-backed Saudi-led invasion of Yemen is to occupy the country, the Houthi spokesman warned, adding that continuation of the aggression against Yemen’s western port city of Hodeidah would ruin any chances of a political settlement to the protracted military conflict. Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia and its Arab allies have been carrying out airstrikes against the Houthis in an attempt to restore power to fugitive former president Abd-Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.
