Jahangiri Congratulates Russia PM

First Vice-President Eshaq Jahangiri in a message Sunday congratulated Dmitry Medvedev on his reappointment as prime minister of Russia. He expressed confidence that two-way cooperation would help expand the political, economic and cultural ties between Tehran and Moscow and enhance regional and international interaction, Tasnim News Agency reported. On May 8, Russia’s lower house of parliament confirmed Medvedev as prime minister, voting 374 in favor and 56 against him remaining in the job he has held since 2012. Russian President Vladimir Putin, who was sworn in for a new six-year term earlier in May, had put forward Medvedev to be prime minister and asked lawmakers to support his pick.
