Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, heading a high-ranking political-economic delegation, was to leave Tehran for New Delhi on Sunday. According to Bahram Qassemi, the Foreign Ministry spokesman, Zarif is will discuss the latest developments in bilateral relations and pave the way for deepening them, Mehr News Agency reported. According to Qassemi, the Iranian delegation will also discuss regional and international developments with the Indian officials. Tehran-New Delhi have expanded in recent years and the two sides are cooperating in different political and economic fields, especially in the key energy and transit sectors. During President Hassan Rouhani’s February visit to India, the two countries signed 15 memoranda to expand bilateral cooperation.
