Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu in a phone conversation Tuesday exchanged views on the latest developments in Palestine. The two sides called for a summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Palestine at the level of heads of state, as well as a UN General Assembly meeting over Israel’s use of force, Mehr news Agency reported. The two ministers agreed to continue their negotiations on Palestine. On Monday, tens of thousands of Palestinians in Gaza rallied near Israel’s border fence to protest a blockade of their territory and the move of the US Embassy from Tel Aviv to Beit-ul-Moqaddas. The Gaza Health Ministry said more than 50 Palestinian were killed and close to 2,400 others injured, including 1,360 by live fire. Of the wounded, 130 are in serious or critical condition. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has accused Israel of committing a “genocide” and condemned the US for moving its embassy to Jerusalem. He has also recalled his ambassadors to Israel and the United States.
